Logent and Sata Shipbuilding Oy have begun a collaboration at the Mäntyluoto shipyard in Pori, Finland. Logent is responsible for the entire logistics operations within the shipyard area. The cooperation commenced in November 2025.

Sata Shipbuilding Oy is a shipyard company owned by the Canadian Davie. Davie Defense is building five Arctic Security Cutter–class vessels for the United States Coast Guard, the first two of which are being constructed at the Helsinki Shipyard. Sata Shipbuilding contributes to the project by supplying block structures for the vessels.

In addition, block construction for the Polar Max–class icebreaker—currently under construction at the Helsinki Shipyard for the Government of Canada—is underway at the Mäntyluoto Shipyard.

The service agreement between Sata Shipbuilding Oy and Logent covers a wide range of logistics operations, including steel logistics management, operation of the central warehouse and the tool and lifting equipment warehouse, internal transport services within the shipyard area, and winter maintenance. Logent also provides value-added services designed to support the shipyard’s daily operations efficiently and safely.

Tomi Nyroos, Production Manager at Sata Shipbuilding Oy, expresses confidence in the opportunities created through the cooperation:

“The importance of logistics as a support function for production cannot be overstated. Efficient management of material flows is one of the fundamental elements in developing the production process. We are pleased with our decision to develop our logistics operations together with Logent. This partnership enables the rapid adoption of professional operating models within our logistics functions.’”

Logent’s Business Area President Joni Sundelin welcomes the new partnership:

“In the demanding environment of the shipbuilding industry, effective logistics management is essential to ensuring smooth and safe production. Sata Shipbuilding’s decision to entrust Logent with the full logistics scope reflects confidence in our expertise and our ability to develop operations with a customer‑centric approach. It is a privilege to contribute to these major projects and support the shipyard’s growth.”

Logent Finland Sales Manager Juha Hauta‑Heikkilä emphasizes the value created through the partnership model:

“Our cooperation with Sata Shipbuilding offers an excellent opportunity to demonstrate our strong competence in shipyard logistics. The joint planning carried out to define the logistics concept has been highly important to us, and it has been particularly rewarding to see operations begin successfully on site. We are confident that together we can achieve excellent results.”
